[VIGAN] ► ILOCOS SUR: The Mr and Miss PASUC (Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges) National pageant was held at Calle Crisologo in Vigan yesterday, 06 December 2016. This event is part of the PASUC 2016 Arts and Culture Festival hosted this year by the University of Northern Philippines, Ilocos Sur's premiere university.

All the regions of the Philippines (except the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao) were represented in this arts and culture festival so being an arts and culture lover, I did not miss the opportunity to witness this event.

When I arrived at the venue, the regional costume round was already ongoing. I was able to see the beautifully crafted costumes they wore that represented the culture and heritage of the region where they came from.

Ilocos Region's (Region 1) male representative was from Mariano Marcos State University in Batac Ilocos Norte while the female candidate was from Don Mariano Marcos Mermorial State University in La Union.

Below are the photos I took. Enjoy!

Mr PASUC 2016 National title was bagged by Region 6 (from West Visayas State University) while the Ms PASUC 2016 National title was bagged by Region 8 (from Eastern Visayan State University).

The idea of staging the event in the middle of Calle Crisologo was a great idea since this pageant is part of the PASUC festival featuring the arts and culture of the Philippines. Vigan is well-known be culturally-rich and what a beautiful way to showcase the rich culture and heritage of Vigan through events like this. It was just timely and interrelated.
