CAOAYAN, ILOCOS SUR ▬ Caoayan is a little town south of the popular heritage city of Vigan. The fame of Vigan overshadows the small towns that surround the city like Caoayan. Unknown to many, this unassuming town is the hometown of a Philippine President. Guess who? He is Elpidio Quirino.
Together with some friends, we drove to Caoayan and explored what this town has to offer. We found a coffee shop called "Tasa." Tasa is the Ilocano term for "cup." This is in fact a coffee shop located inside the more popular Ihawan sa Caoayan.
The Interior
The interior is well-crafted with beautiful furniture, lamps, artistic walls, tidy flooring and ceiling that's worth gazing for. Check out the photos I took below.
The Food
One of their unique offerings is the cucumber lemonade which is really refreshing. Their macchiato is the best seller, served chilled. They also have a great clubhouse.
Time of Operation and Location
Tasa Coffee Shop is located in Poblacion, Caoayan and is open from 10 am to 10 pm. To go here, just take a tricycle from Vigan and request the driver to bring you to Ihawan sa Caoayan.
If you have your own car, take the Quirino Boulevard. You will pass by the University of Northern Philippines and the Gabriela Silang General Hospital. Drive straight ahead until you reach the Caoayan welcome arch. Just go straight ahead until you see a road (with a bridge) at your left side. Turn left to that road. The Tasa Coffee Shop of Ihawan sa Caoayan is near the old Caoayan Church.
Tasa Coffee Shop is indeed a relaxing place to have fun in Caoayan. /end
