VIGAN CITY, ILOCOS SUR ▬ The creep of the sunset is subtle. It went slow for me to decipher that it is already being swallowed by the horizon. The moment was like a short love affair and the river was able to capture it. Ah, dalliance! This is an assemblage of love and peace!
It was a comely Sunday afternoon when I roamed around the demesne of my hometown Vigan armed with a panoply of beautiful heritage. I landed to the recently constructed bridge—called by the DPWH as twin bridge—spanning the Govantes River in the Govantes Dike coming from Bantay, from the north.
I killed the engine of my motorbike and parked on the right lane of the bridge to unearth the Bigueño creativity gushing from the nook of the Ilocano creative-juice-factory-on-demand whenever a sunset is showing.

Sunset in Govantes Dike/River
The Govantes River separates the poblacions of the city of Vigan and of the municipality of Bantay. In this gap, a dike was built to contain the flooding. It is also in this gap where I first appreciated the sunset with the Govantes River.

On the Twin Bridge
This time, the sunset hovered over the city. The stylish street lamps decorated with calesa added drama.
